They live in a floorless, moveable chicken coop, so they get to live on grass, peck and scratch all they want and also be protected from wildlife. I move the coop at least once a day, usually more so they can have fresh grass. Of course they are always given fresh water and grain that they can eat as they desire. In winter they are moved into a windproof structure so it is easier to keep them warm and out of the weather. We have several breeds of hens. They are all brown egg layers but lay different shades of brown shells. We use clear cartons so the costumer can see the eggs. They are made out of recycled pop bottles. We love when costumer return the cartons if it is convenient for them to do so. We also will reuse clean cartons of any kind that are given to us.
